If anyone has japan suggestions / tips please let me know. Thinking two months, split between two cities. What sort of a budget am I looking at here? Need a coworking space as well.
Happy weekend! Today, I paid attention to politics and became angry all over Facebook. So I guess I learned that I can go three weeks mostly-ignoring the news before I explode.
I cannot stop jamming out to the Atomic Blonde soundtrack.
I thought I would take a break from the news from Xmas to New Year’s, but here we are on the third and I still don’t want to know what’s going on.
Today wiped me out! I thought the squeeze we felt at work from people taking off for the holidays would be over, but then TWO coworkers got sick, so we’re back to trying to man the ship with a smaller crew.
@coolkatiedid It may be due to what my husband and I call “The Blade Runner Problem.” We were both underwhelmed by Blade Runner because we watched it after The Matrix, Robocop, various dystopian futures, reading Snowcrash, etc. So even though it was ahead of its time and likely influenced the look of things that came after, it seemed derivative of the things it inspired because to *us* it came last. I might have read too much Other Space Sci-Fi to really appreciate TLHOD.
So I recently read The Left Hand Of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin. I *LOVED* The Lathe of Heaven and Lavinia, and had high hopes because it’s touted as such a classic Sci-Fi book. But I thought it was just OK? I mean it was a great book, but it requires some brain power to keep up with, and I was feeling lazy and really wanted an easy read. And it had this survivalist section, and I’m not a fan of survivalist nonfiction or fiction so it didn’t float my boat.
